Don’t Depend on Guesswork

Who do you turn to when you need help, when you need an important answer to an important question? Do you ask God first?
So many believers fail to do that. They’ll stand around wringing their hands and talking to each other all day. They’ll inquire of their pastor. They’ll inquire of their friends. They’ll inquire of their husbands or wives. But do they inquire of God? No.

Most of us don’t have any idea what grace really is. Oh, we know some basic facts about it. We know we were saved by it (Eph. 2:8). But we don’t even begin to understand the real power it can release in our lives now, today!
Don’t Stop at the Gate

When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, one of the privileges you received was the right to come to the throne room of God any time you want to. Think about that! You have the right to go boldly before God and obtain whatever you need.
Even though that’s clearly what the Bible says, many people don’t go boldly into the throne room. Instead they think, “I could never go in to where God is. I’ll just stand out here and yell and hope He hears me.” I used to be guilty of that myself.
Do Your Own Praying

The Greek word translated afflicted doesn’t mean the result of sickness and disease. It means “troubled.”
If you’re in trouble, you need to pray. That’s what the Word says. Notice it didn’t say your pastor needs to pray for you or your friends need to pray for you. It says you need to pray.
Too often we try to find a quick fix to our problems by asking everyone else to pray for us. There’s nothing wrong, of course, with having others pray for you, but you’ll never get your life to a place of permanent victory until you begin to pray yourself.
Created to Praise

We’re created to praise God. Some people don’t know that. When the praise service starts, they sit back and say, “I’m not comfortable with all that singing and shouting. I guess praise is just not my thing.”
Yes it is! According to the Bible, if you breathe, you were meant to praise.
